What makes poetry to be different from other genres like prose?

Poetry is a way of expressing the feelings, emotions or ideas, using language characterized by imaginary and rhythmical sound. Poetry differs from other literary readings like a novel and play, though they both aim at conveying a particular message in the society. The following are the differences between poetry and other literary readings.
Poetry is rich in imaginary than other readings, like novels which are not rich in imagery. This means that poems are more imaginative and creates emags in the mind of readers unlike other readings like novels which not rich in imaginary. Poet are therefore imaginative than novels.  
Poetry employs language economy while other readings like novels do not employ language economy. This means that poem uses fewer words to convey it`s message while other literary genres use plenty of words. Therefore poem always appear short and novel and pl;ay appear longer.
In poetry, poems are arranged in fixed verses and stanzas while other genres like novels and plays which are arranged in sentences and paragraphs. In poems, the sentences are arranged in fixed stanzas to bring about a particular musical beat, contrary to other genre like novels and plays which arranged in paragraphs.  
In addition to that, in poetry, poems are composed for the aim of being sung, while other readings like novels are created so as to be read.
In poetry, the character of the poem is the persona while in other readings like novels the character can be anyone, any person or animals. In poem the personas are usually the characters who carry the message intended but in other gentries the message can be conveyed by various characters like animals, birds or insects.
In poetry, poems are rich in figure of speech but other readings like novels are less or figure of speech. This is due to the fact that poems employ language economy and therefore most of the words used are symbolic making it rich in figures of speech, unlike other readings whwre most of the words carry the true messages.
Poetry has or consists of musical features while other readings like novels do not have such musical features. This is because poems have rhyming patterns and rhythmical beats which make it rich in musical features unlike other readings like novels which have no rhyme or stressed syllables.
Lastly in poetry there is tone, mood and altitude of the poet unlike other readings like novel which have no tone or mood of the writer. In poems altitudes and tones of poets can be identified where in other genre it cannot be identified.
